Yesterday after lunch our teams were decided. Let’s just say I got we have the best team–by far!! 🙂 Ok, so maybe I’m a little biased, but our first assignment as a team was to go out and make a memory. So Alex and I piled into her stick shift truck with no air, rolled the windows down, and jammed to some country music. Allen, Jake, Christy, and Amanda piled into Allan’s SUV and we headed out. We made a few wrong turns and discovered Timberlake Cove-yes, a dead end neighborhood. Awesome. Once we got back on the road, we ended up at Salvation Army. This is the moment I knew we would be the best team ever! We walked in and picked out the most amazing outfits and decided to go bowling. I love how we all went in and picked out outfits without thinking twice about how silly we looked. Nobody was uncomfortable-we just all jumped right into character and let it roll. Pictures are the best description of how ridiculously awesome we looked that day…

This picture was taken on the porch of Salvation Army by a wonderful older man named Larry Davis. We talked to him for awhile and found out that he had never really left Georgia, but his son who is an architect has traveled to Italy and other places around the world. We told him a little bit about what we will be doing over the next year and he was very excited for us. At one point, he had pulled Allan aside and was asking about our team name. Allan told him we hadn’t really come up with one yet and Larry suggested “Farkle” because it’s different. Interesting. We pondered it for awhile during bowling and dinner, and decided that even if it doesn’t end up being our team name, it will be a part of our team and we will “take Larry” around the world with us. Whenever we have to find our teammates, each of us holds up a different letter to spell out the word “farkle.” Thanks, Larry Davis, for inspiration, a good laugh, and team bonding…

We are still waiting to see what God has for us as we decide on a team name…
