Ahhh training camp, just what it sounds like (haha), training for The World Race and camping; but God faithfully showed up and blew open the box I held Him in yet again!
We had a lot of time to worship the Lord through song and with the Word for the first four days. The speaker we had challenged me in many ways and really helped me press in to Jesus. VULNERABILITY was a huge eye opener during the week. I've learned a lot about vulnerability in the last year, but God took it to a new level. The lie that being vulnerable is a sign of weakness is so prevelent in our world, and I as a follower of Jesus Christ need to make a conscious effort to remind myself that vulnerability is actually a sign of strength. When I am open and vulnerable it is going to allow the people around me to be open also and when people can be open and honest with themselves and others there is FREEDOM!!! (Praise the Lord I got to experience this first-hand this week with my squad) This freedom is the kind that breaks chains and bondages and allows you to walk into a new level of freedom with Christ; as I have experienced more of this freedom I know the Lord is equipping me to walk in this freedom He has blessed me with so that I can fight on behalf of those who have not yet realized their freedom in Christ.
God blessed me so much through worship on this trip. I'm so thankful for that!! Worship has always been an intimate thing for me because I know through it I'm looking into the eyes of my Almighty God and I'm in His presence, but this week God really took that intimacy to the next level. As I entered into worship it was as if nobody, and nothing existed and it was only Him and me in the room. I was able to gaze into His eyes and kneel down before my Father and praise and worship Him as if that was my only care in the world! I hope to be able to translate this into my everyday life as I continue to worship Him in everything I say and do.
