Thailand…
since the time we have set foot here in Thailand its been awesome, Thailand has been on of the places that I have always wanted to go!! and here I am living in Thailand for 1 month. I think that this month have definetly been a timeworp or that could just be the world race in general. Its wierd something that happened 10 minutes ago feels like 10 years ago its crazy.
Our first week here in Thailand we has 4 days of debreif, our whole squad got together and met with out squad coaches Jay and Denise Heesch. We got a chance to take time and just realax, hang out and we had some worship time as welladventure out into Thailand. and somehow I ended up with a tattoo….
Our ministry this month was working at a universtiy with 500,000 students, sounds crazy i know, it is. We stayed right across from the university at this place called BJD (Baan Jai Diow) House of one heart!
BJD is a place where students can live if they choose for a fair amount per month, its right across the university and had an awesome atmosphere to meet knew people. BJD is a really awesome opportunity for students to share there faith with eachother and for new people who come to BJD, there are some students living there now who are not christians so it was an amazing experience to just get to know them and build a relationship with them.
Another ministry tool they use at BJD is the have English class ever wednesday and friday, which was cool to help teach English and TRY and communicate with them. Communication has been very very interesting my english is getting simpler and simpler every time. Lets just say communicating with people who don’t speak English is like playing sharades its so much fun. Especially on campus evangelism, during campus evangelism (now campus evangelism is not what is sounds like, when i first herd campus evangelism first imaged that popped into my head was me standing on bench charismatically preaching and people all around) but no… nothing like thatit was really putting me out of my comfort zone to just go up and talk to different students and starting some random conversation and invite them to english class, we had some pretty hillarious encounters.
God definetly has a sense of humor, one time when we were on campus we had to do it by ourselves I was like man by myself are you serious this is going to be interesting, and as i was walking around the campus I was praying like God okay you know me im pretty shy I dont know how im going to do this, people are not going to understand what I am saying and just laugh and make fun of me, so as i was walking telling God like the language barrier sucks and how am i going to do this. So I am approaching this bench with like 4 guys sitting there Im like Oh no okay here I go Im just going to say Sawadee ca and keep walking cause they probably dont speak english, Well what ya know this guy speaks very well english and i ended up staying there the whole time stalking to them. After God was like okay cass now see that wasnt so hard, then i just had to laugh at myself for building up this anxiety of how i was going to talk to people but like always everything turned out super fun and okay.
Thailand is full of amazing people and amazing adventures.
