I made it to DC! I am now officially on the World Race! It has been an awesome 4 days of building community with my team, digging into God's word, feeling the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit, and becoming increasingly excited for the calling that the Lord has placed upon my heart for the next 11 months.

I am incredibly blessed to be in our nation's capitol tonight, celebrating America's independence. My team and I had the opportunity to eat a wonderful meal together and venture through beautiful Herndon ,VA . On our stroll, we found an awesome patch of grass that gave us a very comfy place to stretch out and enjoy a spectacular view of the fireworks. It was A-mazing!

Freedom. It’s what we as Americans celebrate every 4th of July. It’s what we as Americans stand for and value. It is what was purchased for American citizens with great sacrifice from many brave men and women.

But what about the freedom that Christ purchased for you and me on the cross? Do we as Christians live out that freedom every day? Do we celebrate the true value of freedom? Do we filter our God given freedom through a lens of love?

“Freedom exists so that love can exist.” This is a quote that I was challenged with during one of our evening worship sessions this week. God created freedom so that you and I would have the choice to love Him. If there is no choice, then there is no genuine love. Freedom is so incredibly essential in God’s design for us as His creation. Christ desires nothing more than for us to use our freedom to love Him with all that we are and to filter our freedom through a lens of love as we interact with His other beloved children.
I am blown away by God’s relentless love for me. I desire nothing more than to enter in to a deeper love relationship with my Jesus. My challenge today to the church is this: What does true freedom mean to you? And how do you live out that freedom every day?

Love you all!!
