"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." 27:17

One of the things I'm most looking forward to on my trip is the community, the bonding and the lifelong friends I'll be making.
We have a private Facebook that only the members that are going on our trip can see.
Through that Facebook page we get to bond and form connections with each member of the squad before we even meet. I already love Y-Squad! I can't explain how excited I am to spend every moment with them. No matter how sick of them I will get, or how sick of me they will become. We WILL be family.
Most of us have already have several road trips ready for training camp (Which we JUST found out will be at Ocoee Camp – Whitewater Express in Copperhill, TN!!)
We're sharing fundraising ideas as well as prayers and words of encouragement.
We're sharing things about our self which may be silly, like Sabrina Weneck being great at killing bugs, Brianna Thomas loving dance parties, or who in the squad can braid hair.
We've even shared skills we have that may be useful to have on the trip, like Crystal McCartha being able to sew, Liv Hess being able to cut and color hair and even Isa Caszatt wanting to start a couple of ministries for our squad!

I'd like to reference something Karen Hall stated on our Facebook group : "We're in a really interesting place in that we're walking into meeting each other ALREADY knowing that we're going to be a huge part of each others' lives, some of us even life-long friends I'm sure. It's just a funny/strange experience to know that from the beginning."

Most people think of spending 11 months together for 24 hrs a day 7 days a week as a burden but I call it a challenge. A challenge to learn as much as I can from each member of Y-squad and a challenge to teach them something too! A challenge to love my brothers and sisters in Christ and a challenge to be vulnerable around them and let them love me as well.

I look forward to meeting you Y-Squad and I will continue to pray for all of you as you are always on my heart.
