For those of you that don’t follow me on social media and haven’t heard the news, I met and EXCEEDED my first financial deadline!!! I continue to be overwhelmed by the Lord’s faithfulness and the support of my family and friends. This means that I am officially going to Training Camp!!
Anyone who has been following the entirety of my World Race journey knows that in July I was called to switch from a September launch to a January one, so much of this pre-Training camp preparation time has been familiar to me. I am comfortable here. So meeting this deadline meant much more to me than just making it to Training Camp – it was an affirmation that, yes, the Lord is calling me to go. My time is now. I’m going.
It is thrilling and terrifying all at once, and I am so, so grateful for this crazy mix of emotions because above all there is peace. Peace in my giddiness, peace in the excited unknowns of training camp, and peace in knowing that I am exactly where God wants me to be right now. Peace that passes all understanding. His peace.
So thank you all for your prayers and support and donations. My week-long training camp starts on Saturday, October 8th, but I will be attending a pre-training Women’s Retreat called Beauty for Ashes that the World Race is offering to the women of all January 2015 routes. So I’ve got Georgia on my mind and in less than a week I’ll be Gainesville-bound for the retreat and training camp!! Just typing those words make me smile; I am beyond excited about this next step in my journey!!
