Since my arrival into the states around Thanksgiving I hear over and over, “When’s your next mission trip?”

I am actually scheduled for TWO mission trips.
TRIP #1
It is a joyous privilege to have a part in the fulfilling of our Lord’s Great Commission.  Taking the Gospel to the world is the responsibility of every Christian.  It is my honor to get to go take part in the spread of the Gospel to the people in the Tamarindo area of Costa Rica.

Marvin and Teresa Mefford who represent the Jerry Spencer Ministries team in our area are taking a group to Costa Rica, June 21 -28 2011
Please pray about helping send me on this missionary trip.  I’m asking you to have a part in this wonderful open door to share the Gospel and minister in His Name.

Marvin and Teresa, members of Riverside Baptist, contribute monthly to the ministry of missionaries, Ron and Meredith Droke, in Costa Rica.  We will be working with them.  They were called out under Dr. Spencer’s ministry.  He was recently with them in Costa Rica and reports that God is mightily using them.  I feel really blessed to be going to assist them in their growing work.

Please pray for me and our group as we go.

TRIP # 2
I have scheduled to return to Deliverance Church in Kisumu, Kenya on December 26, 2011
As a Modern day abolitionist I have been working on a few projects in state as well as a safe house in Kisumu, Kenya for victims of abusive homes. Please keep these projects in prayer as they are both relating to sex trafficking. In 2006 it was reported that 2-3,000 girls and boys were involved in full time prostitution and 1 in 10 of children in commercial sex work were initiated before the age of 12. UNICEF estimates that in total Kenya has up to some 30,000 children (under the age of 19) in the commercial sex industry. While in Kenya, God placed it on my heart to disciple young girls at risk for the sex industry.

On my December trip I will follow up on several projects my World Race team began while there last summer. In my month stay I will deepen relationships with the young girls of Living Streams School

I plan to take study bibles to nine of them and take them through a study. I will also choose two of the schools where we had the most converts and pull out small groups to disciple. This mission follow up trip will also give me opportunity to job shadow those working in safe houses and prevention programs.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me [email protected].  I will also be more than happy to come tell stories from past mission trips.

“SOME WENT — SOME SENT . . . both the sender and those who go are necessary in mission work.”

Thank you,
