The following journal entry was written in response to leadership changing for my team. I have been under Leisa Schlichting’s leadership since January. We’ve been through everything together and while I was happy to have Keturah as my leader, it was tough to let Leisa go.
Team Changes to Romania
I woke up knowing something was different. We had a squad meeting at 10am. Leisa wasn’t around. I was genuinely concerned for her. After Lauren’s response to me asking if Leisa was okay, I knew something was changing.
When Leisa walked in she was emotional. I knew that our team needed to get together for her. After the squad meeting Noe told our team to stay around. We were told that Leisa will be stepping down as leader and Keturah will step up. Lauren will replace Keturah’s job as finance person. I know this is a good change- especially after the talk Keturah and I had the other night. She has so much wisdom on our team. She is going to be a great leader and Leisa will be given the break she needs.
