Three to four days a week, since
being here, we have traveled the highway to be the guest evangelists at high
schools.  The children get excited
as we step out of Mama Terry’s big blue van.  Many of them have never seen Americans before.  It’s even funnier watching them with
me.  Until I open my mouth most of
them just think I’m one of them.
Mama Terry always teases that I’m in her family line somewhere.

As soon as we speak most of the
students burst out in laughter.
They aren’t used to our accents.
We have been challenged to
re teach ourselves English- making sure to enunciate and speak slowly.

God is faithful in giving us
messages for these students.  It’s so surreal being able to stand before a student body and tell the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I don’t think I’d ever have such an
opportunity in America.

God has used stories from my
life, and the lives of my teammates to relate to the students.  I’ve mostly enjoyed doing ministry with
Hannah.  Because of our love for
this specific ministry, God has drawn us closer together.  Our relationship as friends has
blossomed and God has used this in our ministry to the students.  We’ve had fun tag teaming.

Sadly, the students sometimes have the misconception that
because we are American, life must be ea
sy for us.  We encourage them, letting them know
that God has a great plan for their lives and he will provide for them.  I even tell them how when I was young
my parents sometimes didn’t know where a meal was coming from or the next
season’s clothes, but God always sent someone to bring food or clothes.

God has mostly given me 1 John 3-5 to teach these youth about the love
of God and how he calls us to love others.
It has been a pure blessing
to seeing nearly 300 give their hearts to Jesus Christ.
