Going to church is something many take advantage of here in the United States.  There are some who use Sunday as a time to catch up on laundry, mow the lawn or sleep a few extra hours and only “visit” the church house on special holidays.   There are people in other countries who would like to be free to worship God every Saturday night or Sunday morning and they can’t due to religious bondage.  Since we have the opportunities to worship freely, why not grasp it?  Church should be a meeting place for believers to encourage one another, hear from God and worship in song.
I enjoy standing during many songs, sometimes not even singing, just listening to the words.  But like this morning at church and everytime I hear the notes being played to “Jesus Promised”, I immediately stand and belt out the lyrics in praise to God.

“O how wonderful it is
Jesus promised he’ll take care of me
O how marvelousl it is
Jesus promised he’ll take care of me

I can call him in the morning
I can call him in the middle of the night
And when I call him, he’ll make everything alright
It does not matter how big the problem may be
Jesus promised he’ll take care of me

O how wonderful it is
Jesus promised he’ll take care of me
O how marvelous it is
Jesus promised he’ll take care of me

TENOR: I don’t have to worry about the things
ahead.
I don’t have to worry about the things
ahead.
ALTO: All I have to do is live right
SOPR: And believe in what he says”

Jesus promised in his word that he would take care of us.  Why not praise him?  Why not worship him?  Why not magnify his name?  Why not come to church and give some time back to God for taking care of things?

Are you having a difficult time figuring out what God’s done for you?  Do you have on clothes?  Do you have on shoes?  Do you have a roof over your head?  Have you eaten?  Have you had something to drink?  Do you have at least one person who listens to you?  Are you breathing?  My God is sufficent and will supply all your needs.  It’s time to give back.
