Well, somehow it’s already the 11th of November! I want to extend a huge thank-you to all of the Veterans who have bravely served our country and everything it stands for. Being on the Race has made me so much more aware of all that I am blessed with living in the USA.
This day is also know as World Race Day, because it falls on 11/11. So, I want to share some things with you that are on my heart, and invite you in to what God is doing in my life.
So, here are 11 things I would love for you to pray with me for on the World Race:
1. For continued freedom and healthy communication in my new team. I love the group of women I have been blessed to live life with the next few months of the World Race. Community is beautiful, but community is hard. Pray that we continue to press in to each other and what the Lord is doing in each one of us.
2. For Malaysia. Malaysia is a country that I don’t fully understand; one of my squad leaders asked me on my second day of debrief what word came to mind for Malaysia, and it was “misunderstood”. There is so much potential for life, freedom, and love in this country, but there is also a lot of corruption and darkness right now.
3. For the countries that I’ve already been in: India, Nepal, Cambodia, and Thailand; although I’ve left they still weigh heavy on my heart. Pray that barriers continue to be broken, that love wins and darkness continues to flee.
4. For my family and friends at home. This may be you reading this now; or you may be reading this and not even know me personally. Whichever the case, please pray that my friends and family at home would experience so much growth in this next few months, and remain on their own journey. I fully believe that it’s not just me who’s on the World Race; so is everyone that loves and supports me. It’s a beautiful thing.
5. For sickness. My team, my Squad and I have been VERY healthy this month. Please pray for continued good health as we finish in Asia and prepare to head into Africa next month.
6. For safety. T-squad has been blessed with so much safety. In light of some recent events on other World Race squads, please pray for their protection, and the continued protection of T-squad.
7. Our leadership team. We have Squad Leaders transitioning into new roles, Alumni Squad Leaders preparing to head home, and our Mentor, Coaches, and and Finance Coordinator working at home to pour into us and make sure we get everywhere we need to go. I appreciate them, and I love them. Pray for energy, refreshment, and encouragement as they continue to lead us.
8. For direction as I process all that the Lord has done and is doing in my life as I begin to think of the question: “what’s next?”
9. For energy; there comes a point on the World Race where you realize you’re tired. Tired in the best of ways, but still tired. There’s something about packing and unpacking a bag every 25 days or so and living in a constant state of goodbyes and the unknown that begins to take a toll both physically and emotionally. Pray for refreshment and a new wave of energy as I head into the second half of the Race. I’d be willing to guess the rest of T-squad could use it too.
10. The church. This probably seems vague; it’s not. Let’s pray that the church would rise up to be all that Jesus has called it to be. That we take seriously the call to care for the sick, feed the hungry, and take care of the widows and orphans. To pray for the world, and to be burdened for what burdens the heart of the Father in a way that brings action.
11. And lastly, finances. The hardest part for me on the World Race. Heck, maybe with life in general. I need to raise $3,800 more by the end of next month. I’m not worried, but I’m also completely freaked out. Pray that hearts would be stirred to give, and that finances would not be a factor that prevents me or anyone on this Squad from continuing the second half of the World Race.
There ya go. Please know that I VERY much appreciate you joining me in prayer for these things. Even if you only read through it once and pray, I’m thankful. Prayer is important, and it’s powerful. These are the things that I’m praying about here on the Race too; sometimes they keep me up at night. It’s a powerful thing when many people begin to pray together.
Thank-you for reading, and for all of the support that I constantly receive from all of you!
Happy Veterans Day and happy World Race Day!
With so much love,
Casey
