PVT
[parent-vision-trip]
Noun (part of general World Race lingo)
1. a chance for parents to join racers on the mission field for one week of the World Race.
2. a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
Ex. In Swaziland, Casey’s parents will have the chance to join her for a week on the mission field for PVT during month 8.
That’s right; my parents (probably just my mom due to work circumstances, younger siblings, and cost, etc.) have the opportunity to meet me in Swaziland during month 8 of the World Race! My mom would get to serve right alongside me; doing ministry and living life in community. But it will also be a great time for her to see firsthand why I left home for 11 months; why I happily take bucket showers; it’s cleverly named Parent Vision Trip, because it will help to do just that: cast some vision. Vision about who I am, and how I’ve changed on the Race. And it will help me to transition better when I return home; because she will be able to experience and see where I’m at. And lastly, it will be her first mission trip experience, which I would love to be a part of!
Is this something that moves your heart like it does mine? If so, I would like to let you know some realities for this trip:
1. I’ve gotta get fully funded for the World Race; you all have been AMAZING and so generous in your giving for this journey. I am extremely grateful for the way so many people have generously given. I am ONLY $4,556 away from being fully funded! Please celebrate with me, because that is so great. However, I need to raise the rest of my support in order to stay on the Race after December (Parent Vision Trip isn’t until February). I’m fully trusting that the Lord will provide, and I am spending time in prayer asking the Lord to bring this money in well before December even hits because:
2. Just as I have to support raise for the Race, I would like to be able to encourage my mom to do the same. As of now, the cost for her to come to PVT would be around $2,500. In order for me to be able to come alongside her and support raise, I have to get fully funded. I would hate to see money come between this awesome life-changing opportunity.
3. God is good and sovereign. If he wants this to happen, it will. But I believe that he wants to use others to make it happen. We are all called to be missionaries; whether it’s to go or to give.
So, what now? I would like to invite you to join my ministry support team. I usually have about 250 people read my blog. If JUST 45 of those people donate $100, I will be fully funded. If you feel the tug on your heart, remember no donation is too small. I believe this last amount could be raised by the end of the month. I would also like to invite you to share this blog (and write a short post on why you’re sharing to get the word out).
P.S.-I know this blog doesn’t say much about what I’m doing or where I’m at, but don’t worry! I’m here in Mae Sot, Thailand with my team and some really cool things are happening this month. Stay tuned!
