Imagine…

A country filled with mountains; filled with statues and temples to Buddha and to Hindu gods.

A country with the sweetest people I’ve ever encountered.

A country that was just severely shaken, literally, and loves and cares for each other so much more than what I’ve seen in America.

A country searching for answers; searching for hope.

A country full of adventure.

A country that has broken my heart; while simultaneously showing me what it feels like to love a place deeply.

A country that the Lord has used to change my perspective of what it looks like to live joyfully and fully.

Welcome to Nepal.

I’ve been in Nepal for about 20 days now, and man, this place has stolen my heart. I wish I could explain to each and every one of you what it feels like to wake up every day with an excitement to just be; to just be blessed with another morning to experience whatever it is I’m going to do each day; how it feels to find enjoyment and rest handwashing laundry on the roof with the mountains on all sides of me; to know daily what it feels like to take a deep breath and be filled with the refreshing breath of God. I taught English this past week, and was so blessed and ministered to by the workers and the students.

We’ve seen the hurt, the devastation, and the confusion that the earthquakes brought; we’ve visited the slums and the temporary relief villages; we’ve prayed, we’ve laughed, and we’ve cried with the Nepalese people who are rebuilding everything. But we’ve also seen the redemption, seen the joy, and seen the hand of God in this place! We’ve shared potluck dinners, worshipped God passionately, and hiked mountains.

I only have 10 more days here. 10 more days in this beautiful country that I NEVER expected to fall in love with. 10 more days to love well, to share Jesus, and to experience all that the Lord has for me here.

And it’s going to be amazing.

Thank-you for joining me on this journey.
