One of my teammates found out Tuesday
that her father’s Leukemia has returned.
By the time this blog posts, she will be by his side. The Lord provided a quick way for her to get
to where she is needed most. We miss
her, but sent her home with our full blessing.
Her father has but one weakness; we bring many strengths in the name and
power of Jesus. Below is what I’d begun
writing to her before she even left.
To Cricket,
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is
sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly
about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in
weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am
strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
Rise up. Be a shining example of God’s glory and
power. Proclaim a mighty work in the
name of Jesus. Proclaim that you are
nothing without the Spirit of the Lord within you. Speak life and life abundantly; that there is
no sickness or sadness in the presence of God Almighty. Call Him down to be with you so that all of
His promises to you must come true. ‘Now
the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
freedom.’ 2 Corinthians 3:17. Yes, there is freedom, bountiful freedom, in
the Spirit of the Lord. It was first
offered when Jesus breathed His earthly last, and has been flowing down from
heaven, mingled with love and grace, ever since. Take it.
It is offered to you and your family.
Make it your own. The Father
offers you ownership and empowerment of that freedom. You are now a friend of God’s and may ask of
Him anything in His name.
“I no longer call you servants,
because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for
everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and
appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you
ask in my name.” John 15:15-16.
You know the business of the Father and
you are intimately involved with His work.
He pours out blessings on you because you are His servant and
friend. He has chosen you. You are elite. You committed to follow Him around the world
and He will give you all things. You
found out what God is doing and got involved, because it was already
blessed. Now, I believe, God is in the
business of healing your father, and you are sent to be involved in it. And it is blessed.
Cricket, ‘How blessed on the mountains are the feet of those
who bring good news…” (Isaiah 52:7), I pray now and thank our Father in
advance that you will soon return to us with blessed feet. We love you.
