WOW, WHOA, GASP, and WHEW!!!!!  You know how sometimes something so out there happens that your only response to someone who asks about it is to simply burst out into laughter?  That was training camp for me.  I’ve never been so immersed in God.  Even now, I still have to decompress a bit.  I am so thankful for the AIM staff for providing a time of spiritual cleaniness, learning and encouragement.  They did such an excellent job by preparing us in a number of different ways and using a variety of teaching styles.  In fact, my only lament is that AIM doesn’t control the weather.  It was crazy cold for most of camp; those of us from the south aren’t used to 20 degree nights and 35 degree days ever, much less in the middle of spring.

I am sad to report that I did not have access to my camera and cannot post some amazingly fun pictures, but please visit some of the other blogs for visual aids.  One of the most amazing parts of camp was the team-building activities.  It was incredible to watch us evolve as a small team and as the June group.  By the end of camp, one could have randomly put any group together and they would have known each other’s strengths and weaknesses.  We really learned what it means to be put into situations that are totally counter-intuitive and think outside the box.

Using that handy segway, the most important thing for me personally was that I learned to start taking God out of the box that I had Him in.  I’m learning to really develop my faith through purposeful acts like not only reading, but studying my Bible; and not only speaking, but listening while I pray.  God is already breaking out of His box when it comes to my support raising.  It’s been a humbling but rewarding journey already and I’m excited about the prospect of God showing up in an even bigger way as people continue to get involved in this ministry.  Thank you so much!  I want to share with you what this is all about:
And Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obe everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28: 18-20.

Also, it’s going to come out sometime so now is as good as ever.  Sunday afternoon before my train I was catching up with a friend and, considering the torture I had been through the last two weeks, we talked ourselves into getting a pedicure.  Yes, I know.  But it was totally worth it.
