**** I am not in Peru! This is a catch up blog from month 4 of the race… I am in route to Nicaragua.****

Month 4 of the world race was spent in the desert of Trujillo, Peru in a community called El Milagro (The Miracle). Our team worked with a missionary family, the Lujan’s, who are holding church services, running a daycare, directing a missionary training program, and holding community outreaches such as teaching English, women’s Bible studies, and home groups. Needless to say, this family (Auden, Wendy, Keili, and Josiah), stays super busy!

We were able to come alongside them and serve in the daycare giving the volunteer teachers some much needed planning time. We definitely didn’t mind getting to hang out with some of the cutest kids in Peru! Education is such a privilege and these kids get an opportunity to get a head start on their schooling and also learn about Jesus. Through the Pre-school the Lujan’s have been able to reach the parents in the community; offering parenting classes and healthy cooking classes combined with Bible study.

We were blessed to enjoy authentic Peruvian cuisine everyday! A beautiful lady from the church named Belen prepared it. She and her sweet family became our friends. We played volleyball at her house and played with her three beautiful boys. Her family invited us to join them for lunch on Resurrection Sunday. They served us a delicious and beautiful meal. It was so nice to spend time with their family. I’m finding out how detailed God’s love is for us. It’s through these seemingly small blessings like being able to fellowship with this sweet family on a holiday when you might be missing your family, that you can see just how deeply God cares for you. He is so faithful to remind us of His great love for us!

The month was busy, full of ministry, by the end, I was spent, but my heart was full of love for the people of El Milagro and full of hope knowing that God is at work there.

Please join me in lifting the Lujan’s up in prayer, pray that God would continue to give them favor with the people, that God will continue to provide for their family financially, and that He would send more people to come along side them in ministry and in life.

The harvest is great and the workers are few.
