Ok.. so don’t sue me… the title is vaguely similar to last month… doc me a point for creativity! But really… let me just share some things with you:
Since being in Malawi the last month I’ve begun to wonder if I’m missing out on the majesty of the Lord in the United States. When we first arrived in Malawi I immediately noticed that everything seemed beautiful! EVERYTHING! Now, don’t get me wrong, I realize full well I’m on another continent, in another hemisphere, on the other side of the globe! However, everything here seems beautiful; everything is brilliant and everything is majestic! The trees grow out as they get older instead of up (well they get tall, but they get realllllly WIDE), and they’re amazing. The birds are bright, almost florescent, the butterflies are TEAL… the monkeys, well….they have monkeys!! But it’s definitely teaching me that His majesty is all around. His creativity and great design surround us, no matter where we are.
Do I see it in the states? Sure I do. I’m not saying I haven’t paid attention, cause the Lord knows I’m the one with a million pictures of clouds and animals on my phone. I love seeing all that He has made! I think though, that’s it’s also made me appreciate creation on a new level. It’s made me see the Lord in a new perspective. Are there things here I will never see in America? YES! But there are also things in America, I will never see here. And so it goes with this journey. There are going to be things I see here that I don’t see in any other place in the world. There are going to be things the Lord does in my life that couldn’t be done in the states; and when I return there will be things the Lord continues to do in my life that couldn’t be done on the field.
He is good and His majesty is all around us; no matter where we are or what we’re doing. His creativity, His beauty, all of it, it’s all around us AND it’s within us! Take a hold of it today. Embrace the beauty around you and what He’s doing within you.
