Enjoy some random photos from Uganda.
This is Geoffrey. He may be one of the coolest babies ever. I think he is still looking pretty manly even though his mom put a pink hat on him. And his shorts say (in Spanish) “Someone who loves me very much went to Cartagena, Colombia and got me this t-shirt.” I love random typo clothing.
This is at one of the schools we visited. It was a good time. Lots of clapping and dancing and singing.
Beautiful sunset from the backyard.
This is Jesus the Goat. (Spanish pronunciation– hey-zeus) He lives next door. I think he might be the one who left me the gift that I stepped in barefoot.
Wandering about in a nearby neighborhood.
Our team is notorious for getting stuck along side of the road. I’ve gotten pretty good at pushing vehicles through mud and volcanic ash even in flip flops and ankle length florals. At the end of next month that skirt is getting free piled.

This is also from being stuck along side of the road. The story goes something like this. The van we were riding in died, so we got out and walked down the rocky and steep side of the road. We were then going to push the van so, in the pitch blackness, I ran back up toward the van. I then tripped over a rock or some shrapnel or something. Who knows it was dark. I then got up and pushed the van. Upon walking back down the side of the road, I realized my toe felt a little wet and sticky. I then said to Cadence– I think I cut my toe. She got out her camera so we would have a little light. With the light of the camera we confirmed that I had in fact cut my toe and sadly my jeans as well. Now, one week later, my toe has healed and my jeans have not. Sad day.
Some kids at a nearby school. They were a little more enthused after Cadence led O-le-le and Singing in the rain.
In the afternoons we go to a park and hang out with the kids from the neighborhood. I haven’t seen little Prescott recently, but I hope I can get a picture with him before we leave because he’s pretty awesome like that.
Uganda has been great and in a week and a half we will be in Tanzania!
