Ecuador was a great month!  We were super busy pretty much the whole time, but it was so much fun.  All of the people we met were so kind and welcoming.  We spent a couple of weeks in a town called Calderon with a pastor and his family.  The whole family was awesome and we got to spend a lot of time specifically with one of his sons because he came with us to Higuerones and he lives in Portoviejo, where we also spent a lot of time.  We had fun on all of our crazy Ecuadorian adventures with David.  David happens to be in medical school and was cool enough to teach me how to suture!  I was so excited when he said he would teach me and learning was really fun, but a little more challenging than I thought it would be.  However, I was successful, so now I am ready to suture anything and everything.

I would just like to point out that there is in fact a sterile field on the pillow and
I was wearing sterile(ish) gloves.  It was pretty legit.
Suturing is good times.
(There is also a video of me learning how to suture.  However, internet access
here is not the greatest and although I am at Speedy Internet, it currently says it is going to take 4 hours to upload my 5 minute video, so thats not really gonna happen.  Hopefully in the future I will be able to upload the video for your viewing pleasure).
Other notable Club Joes items:
So, Im pretty much getting eaten alive by mosquitos.  If you look at my legs it
looks like I have the chicken pox.  And after we stayed at a hostal in Quito, I
noticed I had some particularly itchy bites on my hands and fingers.  Mosquito bites? Hopefully.  Scabies?  So help me, no.  It remains to be seen.  I really dont want
to have to find some sort of elimite equivalent and scabies is just straight up
nasty, so I really hope all of the bites resolve shortly.
On a more positive note, I recently got to enjoy some E9 goodness.  I had not had
any E9s since putting down my 24-pack going away present during the 2 weeks
between finishing work and embarking on this adventure.  However, after our most
recent travel day(s) I enjoyed some E9 deliciousness as a reward for spending back
to back nights sleeping on buses.  I had purchased the E9 prior to the 2 day bus
adventure, so by the time I got to enjoy it, it was half melted and completely smushed,
but delicious nonetheless.  I love me some snickers, but I did recently discover the
canonazo bar, which is a close second to snickers.
So, thats it for now.  Hola to everyone at Club Joes!  Hope St. Paddys Day was a blast!
