Our first week of the trip we were in Santo Domingo, DR.  It was like an extension of Training Camp: teaching, praise and worship, all for the purpose of growing in our relationships with God.  We all had our own individual battles and triumphs.  My own experience was one of greater learning and acceptance of my own spiritual gifts.  Also, I have been aware for some time of my need to have greater boldness, in reaching out to others with the LOVE that I feel for them and in sharing the things that God has done in my life.  I won’t say that I’m there yet, but my team offers a safe place to grow in both of these areas.

Santo Domingo is an area that needs your prayer.  The city, or at least the area I was in, feels heavy.  I don’t know how to explain it other than that and it isn’t just the heat and humidity.

We are now in San Juan and have been BLESSED to be staying in an Adventures In  Missions (AIM) base.  They rent a beautiful house in a nice area where the neighbors are friendly.  Plus we have showers with water pressure.  Seven teams (about 45 people) are staying here.  I’m in a room with 5 other girls.  Those of you who know me are aware that I’m not one for crowds, but I’ve been managing to find enough semi quiet, semi alone time.

We meet with our ministry contacts Tuesday morning.  My team and one other team will be doing outreach in an agricultural community outside the city.  I’m actually looking forward to getting to see the more rural side to the DR.  I wish I could tell you more about what we will be doing, but as with most things on the World Race, we don’t know what we’ll be doing until we get there and even then it will probably change 6 or 7 times along the way.  All I can tell you is God knows the exact place and time that we will be meeting the exact people He wants us to meet.  We just need to remain open to His movement and guidance, follow and TRUST.

I miss you and love you all so much.
