“Happy like a fool, let it take you over.” -One Republic, Good Life

Thank you so much to supporters who have given financially, purchased gear, and committed to pray. Any time I begin to lose sight of my purpose in this or get caught up with the thought that I will never raise enough support, God proves faithful-and you are His instruments in that. Thank you!!! Now I’ve still got a long way to go as far as funds are concerned, but every little bit helps!

For those of you wanting to support this ministry, but don’t seem to have the funds to do so, READ ON!
I realize we are all living in a tight economy, so I’ve come up with some ways to save money and with these savings you, too, can support me on the World Race.
Things to try:
-collect coins from your couch cushions or car seats
-skip out on that midnight trip to the drive-thru
-plasma!
-sell back clothes at Plato’s closet
-sell back textbooks online or at the nearest bookstore
-next time you are at a restaurant order water instead of another beverage
-keep a jar to put spare change in
-skip out on Starbucks (gasp) and make coffee at home
-ride your bike/walk to school or work and save on gas $$
-collect aluminum cans
-clip coupons
-ask your church, organizations you’re involved in, local radio stations, community centers for help and spread the word about what is happening
-campaign for people/organizations to match your giving
Things not to try:
-making your animals fast or diet to save money on pet food
-selling books that you currently need for class
-collecting coins from other people’s couch cushions and car seats
-“recycling” your coworkers’ Starbucks cups so it seems like you are drinking the real thing
-start buying things you never buy, but feel like you should because you found a coupon for them…go broke saving money
-stop showering and doing laundry to save money on utilities
-sell your organs on the black market
Like I said, these are just some ideas. Take em or leave em. Let me know what you are doing to save money and support the World Race-leave comments with your own ideas!
Before considering a donation, please pray and ask the Lord to position your heart to give, that your desires would stem from His, and nothing would be done in vain. It is hard to not let the desire for money, success, and power overtake us, but God has something so much bigger for us that does not require those things, rather relinquishing them for His glory. And His glory is the bottom line. Be smart in your savings and don’t let greed make a fool outta you!
“I denied myself nothing my eyes desired, I refused my heart no pleasure…Yet when I surveyed what my hands had done and what I toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind…Guard your steps when you go to the House of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools.” Ecclesiastes 2:10-11, 5:1
