We moved!
My team has moved locations and we are now in Pretoria, South Africa, living and working with a ministry called Pop Up. I will be teaching basic computer skills to adult learners for the next two weeks with my good friend and fellow J159er, Vanessa. We are both super excited to begin work on Monday and to get to know the learners that will be coming to class!
My team (along with three other I-squad teams) is living at Pop Up for the next couple of weeks and once again the Lord has been good to slowly transition me to life away from the states. We still have toilets that I am used to (can you tell this is a major concern of mine?), and a shower with hot water so no more weird dances for me! We are all sleeping in one room on the floor, but we have a kitchen and a washer and dryer and internet (except when the train goes by). I feel like we have so, so much that I had prepared myself to live without and I am very thankful for the kindness of the Lord and for being known and cared for in these small ways.
As of right now, we haven’t had a lot of interaction with those outside of Pop Up, but it has been so encouraging to see and hear what God is doing in South Africa and to get my feet up under me. I will update soon with more info on what life looks like here and what God is doing through and in our lives!
Much love to all of you!
