Dearest Friends and Family,
I have the official news about when I leave the states and where I am heading! My team is flying out of Chicago tomorrow to New York. We will be in New York for one night and leave there Sunday afternoon to fly to Atlanta, where we will board the second longest flight in the world… straight towards South Africa. My squad is so huge that our teams are being divided amongst 4 different countries once we arrive. My team will be staying in South Africa and serving with a ministry called Soccer 4 Children.
Now that good-byes have been said and I am sitting in a hotel room repacking bags with my teammates at 1:30 in the morning, my heart is growing more and more excited to be on this adventure! Good-byes are never fun, but I am truly at rest with whatever this next month will bring!
And now for house-keeping: My cell phone returned to North Carolina with my Mom yesterday and I forgot to copy down the numbers of friends and family. I called home today to ask Mom to email me the numbers of everyone I could think of, but if you are reading this and want to hear from me via telephone, please email me your number just to make sure I have it!
The plan for tomorrow and Sunday is to enjoy what we can of Chicago and New York, so the next time you hear from me I will be in South Africa!
