I'm not really sure what to expect from this trip since I've never left my family for nearly a year to live in different parts of the world for the purpose of sharing Christ. I have gone on mission trips before and what I learned from them is to expect the unexpected… to be flexible…. and to keep my eyes, ears and heart open to what the Lord is doing in the lives of those I serve, the lives of my team, and also in my own life. So I am excited for what is to come.
I am preparing myself to be STRETCHED! To be lonely at times. To be freaked out at others. To perhaps experience real homesickness for one of the first times in my life since this will be the longest I've ever gone without seeing my family. I am also expecting to make friends that will become like family over the course of a year. To see a whole lot more of God in new ways. To be STRETCHED. Did I say that already? Perhaps most of all, I am expecting to be changed.
