Dear Family and Friends,
I have an announcement that just might shock you, especially if you’ve ever been privy to my picky food eating ways! I am leaving the country this September to travel around the world with an organization called the World Race. For 11 months I will live in 11 different countries and have the incredible opportunity to serve the nations, share the gospel, and see with my own eyes the truth that God is at work bringing people from every nation, tribe and tongue to Himself.
The past several years of my life have been filled with the unmistakable pursuit of the Lord calling me away from fear, shame, doubt, and most importantly, unbelief. I have seen over and over again that God delights in opening prison doors, and I have learned that the key is always knowing Him, His character and ways. The gospel is the best display of this and the Word tells its story over and over again. I love that. I love teaching it. I love watching prisoners run free because of it, which is why I am so excited to join a team of six other individuals and demonstrate the gospel in word and deed to those trapped in the very things Christ’s blood sets them free from. Some days that might look like digging a well in Africa for clean water. Other days it might look like praying for the sick, or holding an orphan, or teaching from the Bible. Whatever form it takes, the purpose is to teach Christ, to show Him, to give Him to those that desperately need Him.
I will spend the year in Swaziland, South Africa, Zimbabwe/Botswana, China, India, the Philippines, the Ukraine, Moldova, Costa Rica/Panama, Nicaragua, and Honduras. I am so excited over what is to come! I would love for you to come along for the scenic route and follow my blog updates and to participate in making this possible for me through financial and prayer support.
Here is a list of deadlines that I have to meet:
- $3,500 – Due 6/30/2012 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
- $6,500 – Due 8/18/2012 (2 weeks prior to my trip)
- $11,000 – Due 12/1/2012 (End of 3 months on the field)
- $15,500 – Total Due 3/1/2013 (End of 6 months on the field)
I know that seems like a lot – if I think about it too much, my head starts to hurt! I also know though that nothing is too hard for the Lord and I am excited to watch Him provide. To make it a little less overwhelming, if I have 26 people give $50 a month from this March until next February, I will be completely funded!

I am really so very excited about what is to come during this trip. Each of you has journeyed with me through so much already, and I would love for you to continue to take part in my life during this next season. Beyond anything, your prayers are greatly appreciated as I prepare to leave a world I know so well to go to the nations and love people lost and hurting.
