Oh hello there!
I see you would like to know a little more about me… allow me to introduce myself. My name is Carrie and I am 26 years old. I grew up in the quaint little town of Chatham, Ontario. A town filled with Tim Horton’s and corn fields. After high school I went to Fanshawe College in London, Ontario to study Interior Design and graduated in 2007. I was blessed to have a job at an Interior Design firm in London as a fresh graduate. I absolutely love the industry I am in and to have the ability to share my creative eye with others.
In my life experiences God has taught me a lot of things but there are a few that seem to keep at the top of the list. You only have one life, leave the planning to Him and everything happens for a reason. This past year I have felt discontentment. Fearful and unsure, I had been praying for direction. Only this past May when of all things, returning home from a vacation in Cuba (God works in mysterious ways…) did I feel a strong conviction and calling to be doing something more with the circumstances, opportunities and ultimately blessed life I have been given. I was reminded of this when seeing just a small glimpse of the great need and how much hope and love our world needs. I truly believe God has given me the trials in my life to be a testimony and to have the potential to be a small piece of encouragement and hope for others. I want to be able to share the love and support I have received unfailing and countless times. I am very excited to be taking part in The World Race and to minister to the 11 different countries in January.
Interesting & some not necessarily that interesting facts about me:
- I suck at spelling…and to this day I do not know how I got into my grade 8 spelling bee…
- In the summer I like to stick to the three b’s: beach, BBQ & bonfires
- I wish I owned a soft serve ice cream machine
- I am interested sustainable design and environmental impact
- AutoCAD and I are BFF’s
- I don’t have a favourite colour
- I am partially bionic
- I love to cook, craft and create
- Shopping at local markets is a favourite past time
- I openly love the Harry Potter series. It’s my nerd factor.
- I don’t own a TV or a microwave. Weird right?
- I love meeting new people and swapping stories
- I have a passion for helping people in whatever way I can
- I am incredibly blessed by the family and friends I have in my life
- I have one brother and a dad, an adopted mom & dad and two other brothers and a sister. I don’t have the ‘typical’ family but it works J
- I’ve never had a pet
- I learned how to play the saxophone in high school
- My favourite verse is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
