Today was our Sabbath day. I decided to research a rock climbing gym in Bucharest.
The web said something to effect of ‘go left when you see two pipes in the air. Go up stairs.’ And those are good directions, so Kirsten and I decided to go and she made this awesome map:
When we got there, we passed 10 bored construction workers and ended up at what looked like the Romanian embassy. There was a gate marked ‘no not enter’ and even had a little booth for a security guard, but it was empty. So, probably not the right place. We turned around.
Then, right before giving up this kid wearing a Metallica shirt comes out of nowhere. I am thinking ‘he likes Metallica. He’s gotta be cool.’ ‘Hey, do you speak English? We’re looking for the rock gym.’
Awesome kid knows where it is. And it WAS the Romanian embassy building.
So, this rock gym is pretty much what I picture my room in Heaven to look like. It’s huge- like some sort of old classroom. It has high windows and light flooding in from everywhere, and kid’s art all along the walls. There is a stage up front that the climbing wall has been created on. (Huzzah!) So, pretty much- Jesus hooked us up and blessed us with an adventure of awesomeness.
