On Thursday night, a group of
us gathered on the bottom level of the Tamar Center for prayer and worship. The
door, about the size of a one-car garage, was open and we were all sitting on
the floor ready to enter into the presence of God.

Let me just say that Soi 6 at
7pm is a lot different than Soi 6 at noon, so the streets were filled with a
ton of people and loud music. As we prayed and began singing, the noise began
to fade. I no longer heard the music pouring out of the bars; I no longer heard
the voices of the girls beckoning the men passing by. The outside noise was
literally silenced and it’s not because we overpowered them, but because we
were resting in the presence of the King.

And as I prayed, I was
reminded of Psalm 86, which my dad had emailed me about a few days earlier. The
part that stuck out to me the most were verses 8 – 10, which say,

“Among the gods there is none like You, O
Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
For You are great, and do wondrous things;
You alone are God.”

After I read that, I just
kept singing out “You are worthy” over and over and over again. I was left in
awe of who God is. How even in the midst of the perversion going on around us,
we were bringing glory to God! There is
none
like Him and even the nations that are furthest from Him will come and worship,
bringing glory to His name!

Will you meditate on that
today? Will you clear you mind of whom we make God out to be and think on who
the Bible says He is? If you aren’t sure, will you study the Word and find out?
Will you stop thinking about what God can do for you and meditate on what He’s
already done? How in Him you have everything you could possibly need?

It’s humbling…it’s hard…and it
leaves me speechless, because this life is not at all about you or me like so
often we think it is – it’s all about God.
