It’s hard to believe that our
time in Cambodia is already half over. On one hand it seems like we just got
here, but on the other it feels like we’ve always been here. We can navigate
our way around, we’ve gotten pretty good at bargaining with the tuk-tuk
drivers, we know where all the good food is and we’ve snagged some pretty good
deals at the Russian Market.

Our ministry is amazing,
though I can’t say much for security reasons. Our team has been doing
everything from creating an inventory system to designing new products [cards,
jewelry, etc…] for them to sell to working on advertising and being guinea pigs
for the girls to practice things like “wedding hair”.

Oh, can I just say how awesome it is that God shows His love for us in the simplest ways? It may not mean much to you, but our ministry has a dog!! I was so excited that God worked it out that my first month on the field, I would have interaction with a beautiful dog named Peter. I just felt like God was saying “This is for you, daughter,” because He knows how closely I hold His creations in my heart back home. So awesome!

One big thing that was talked
about at Training Camp and even the first few days of launch was being fluid –
I can now see how important that is. When we first started ministry, it was a
little overwhelming. Our contacts had [and still have] so much going on and we
just weren’t sure what they wanted us to focus on, but I feel that God
instilled wisdom, patience and a humble servant’s heart in all of us.

It would have been so easy to
get caught up in expectations of what ministry should look like, but what I’ve
learned is that ministry encompasses all aspects, even stuff that is done behind-the-scenes.
The effect of the work we’re doing may not be fully realized in our time in
Cambodia or even in this life, but I know that one day we will see the big
picture.

Also, I would like to take a
minute to say a special thank you to all of my supporters – to those who have
given financially, thank you! You have provided a place for me to sleep, food
to eat, money to buy toilet paper and pay for transportation costs to get
to/from ministry! I would not be here doing what God has called me to do
without YOU! To all those who are praying for me – thank you! I know there are
so many instances that I may not even realize where the prayers of people like
you have protected me, given me strength, ideas and the words to say. This is
not a journey I am walking by myself, so I just want each and every one who is
walking it with me to know how much I appreciate the support you have and are
providing along the way! Much love!
