Well the last few weeks have been flying by!

But I’d like to try to give a glimpse of the way God has been blessing me through it.

First off, I had a friend who does an annual pumpkin roll sale to help earn a little more cash as a college student. Well, this year, she decided to donate her earnings to my trip. How incredible is that? It’s so generous and thoughtful. We got to talk for a while, which was awesome, too! She raised $300 for my trip. It truly blew me away and blessed me more than she’ll ever know.

Second, I received extra cash as a kind of year-end bonus from my employer. It was unexpected, but again, truly appreciated.

Third, my dentist and his wife had previously financially supported me, but when I came in for my regular cleaning, they did some extra stuff for me out of their own pocket…again, totally unexpected but truly appreciated.

Lastly, I had to get glasses. I had already gotten a year supply of contacts earlier this year, so I was looking at (no pun intended :P) probably $300+ because insurance was not likely to cover getting glasses when I already technically (as far as the insurance company is concerned) had enough contacts.
Well, I went in to the eye doctors and explained to them that I needed glasses and that I knew I was going to have to pay for them and they started getting frames out for me to try on. They kindly explained that with no insurance, the frames would be 20% off. Yay that’s better than nothing, especially since I figured I’d be paying all of it!

It gets better. They look up my information in their system, print off some papers, then come to me and show me that it says insurance will be paying their part.
WHAT?!?!?!? That’s CRAZY! It should not have happened…but it did. I have several human made theories as to why it happened, but I know no matter the answer, God was in control. So instead of paying what turned out to be $400 glasses, I payed only $50. What a miracle and a blessing.

I’m so excited and blown away by God’s mercy and care. Oh, how He loves us!
You guys helped me smash the December 18th goal of $10,000. Our next goal is $13,000 by the end of February!
So there’s a little peek into what my past few weeks have been like!
Of course, there’s also freaking out because I have to pack, there’s the holidays, vaccines this week, and the fact that I”M LEAVING IN 15 DAYS!!!!!

Needless to say, I’m super duper excited and can hardly wait, but I need your continued support and prayers!

I will leave you with a picture of my miracle glasses and a poem. 🙂

The winds of change are ever at my back
Beckoning me forward

“Come with me and embrace a new adventure
Face your fear and breathe once more”

I fight the howling
I fight the storm

Then I hear those winds turn sweet
And feel the gentle breeze sweep across my face, whispering again

“Come with me and watch your story unfold
Begin a new tale that’s never been told”
