I know I have posted about gratitude before, but I think it’s very important (and appropriate since it’s only a few days from Thanksgiving!!!).

I am not a good receiver…and no, I don’t mean football….although I’m probably not good at that either haha. I’m not a good receiver in that when people give me gifts, I don’t know how to respond most times. I mean, I’m always thankful. But I don’t give “good reactions” and even sometimes feel guilty receiving a gift, if I feel like I didn’t deserve it or didn’t give the kind of reaction I think they’re expecting. It’s also extremely difficult to ask for a gift.

Honestly, this sometimes translates to my salvation. I know I’m not deserving of such a gift. I know I could never do enough to deserve being saved from the penalty of my sins.
But that’s the beauty of a gift. I don’t have to “deserve” it, because with true gifts, there is no prerequisite other than being loved by the gift giver.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

While we were yet sinners. He didn’t require us to be good or perfect or dress a certain way or talk a certain way first. He loved us before. That is why He gave the perfect gift. He simply loved us to death.

How are we to react to this Gift? Ask. With gratitude. Thanksgiving. He’s not expecting us to give a big reaction…just our hearts.

So when I am given a gift, I need to remember that I don’t need to have a big reaction or “deserve” it.  I just need to give gratitude from my heart.

I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in your own ways. Whether it’s through encouraging words, financial contribution, or prayer. It means more to me than I could ever truly express. If I could hug every single one of you, I would. And I’m not even the hugging type! Seriously…I wish I could show you my heart and how deeply you have all touched me in different ways.

Together we have raised $10,000 to send me into all the world and share the Gospel- the love of Jesus. That’s incredible.
I am leaving in less than 7 weeks. I have about $7,000 more to raise. You guys have been so awesome. I know we can do this! God has used you all in such a magnificent way in my life…but it won’t be just for me. Your gifts will be translating into love for people around the world. Whether you have/ can donate $1 or $10,000 or have been a prayer warrior.  It is an incredible gift and God will bless you for it. And when that blessing comes, make sure you give thanks! 🙂

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!! :)                                                                          Happy Thanksgiving!!!! 🙂
