….hold on to that feeling!  🙂

I couldn’t help myself when it came to making a pun out of a song.

As you probably guessed, I am in Belize now for the field study.  I landed the day before yesterday only to find that the part of town I was in had only car repair shops and the occasional bank.  So after ordering in Chinese food at the hotel, I sat down to figure out how to spend the following day.

I discovered a beach that was a $10 taxi ride away and I enjoyed the morning there.  I found that with no one to get my back, I burned a bit.  But that’s the sort of thing you really can’t ask a complete stranger to do.  My next task was to figure out how to put aloe on the places that I couldn’t even reach in the first place.

It was enjoyable though and I slept well that night…haha.

As for today.  I hopped a bus to the zoo.  The bus was an old school bus turned city bus, and they packed it Malawi style.  But all in all, still a good and cheap way to travel.  I am now at the zoo a little early to meet my cohort, but that gave me the chance to eat a little something and blog.

Belize is nice.  It makes me think of the Bahamas mixed with the Dominican…and throw a tiny bit of Mexico in for good measure.  The people here are awesome…but the mosquitoes are huge.  That’s my assessment for now.  🙂  I can update you more later.

Wish me luck with meeting my fellow students.  And pray for grace in this season.

(PS.  for more on Vietnam, I have a post from July 10th on my personal blog: http://carolinesadventuresinlife.blogspot.com/)
