When we were in Haiti, the neigbhorhood kids knew only one phrase in English.  It was, “Hey, YOU!  You!  Give me one dollar!”  I don’t know who taught them this, but it has become a running joke with our mission team.  We will use our best Hatian accent and call out to get the attention of a friend…”HEY YOU!…”

Haiti seems so long ago now that we are in our second month in South America.  Everything is different, the weather, the language, the cities, the feeling around us.  And I am so blessed to be where I am.  We are working with an amazing church preparing with them for a peace march next week, making videos, songs, and skits for youth work, getting the paperwork done to visit the prisons, and other prep stuff for our orphanage work.  We spent today painting the banners for the march, and we were invited to join on Saturday.

As different as South America has been from Haiti, I know that the coming months will be just as different.  But here’s the ringer, I won’t be able to move forward into Africa if I don’t meet my fundraising goal.  I actually am about $2000 short of goal number 3.  This needs to be met by Dec. 1st.

So in an attempt to raise funds in time, I have a little “Give Me One Dollar” Campaign.  I have an excel spreadsheet with the dollar amounts ranging between 1-100.  My goal is to have all the excel boxes marked off of this spreadsheet by the end of the month.  For added incentive, each dollar box that you agree to mark off by donating, will grant you one paper in a raffle.

Example:

Joe Smoe decided to donate to the boxes- $5, $6, $7 and $8.  So he gives me $26 in total and gets 4 raffle tickets.  These tickets go into my little hat to hopefully win a little gift from Peru/Ecuador.  Now no one else can donate to those particular boxes, but no worries there are 96 others to block out.

I am starting this Campaign now, so feel free to let me know which boxes you would like to block off.  And Good luck on the raffle!

Thank you so much for allowing me to come this far with your donations, and thank you in advance for sending me forward to continue the good work set before us by the Lord.
