Well…I had a beautifully written blog post that froze without saving, and because of time restraints and just plain frustration, you will get all the information again, but in list form. Sorry for the inconvenience but I have to go to work in 20 minutes.
- I got my immunizations. Yellow-fever shot and typhoid pills (which is the LIVE virus so I had to keep it on ice in my car until I got home. Feels kinda like an action movie at that point!)
- I bought my mosquito net, sleeping pad, and backpack so the only things I have to worry about are flights/drives to an from training camp/launch and of course general fundraising.
- Not worried about fundraising though because God our Father gives good gifts: Matthew 7:7-11 “7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” So I am asking Him to help me reach my second fundraising goal by the time the first one is due in June. He said to ask, and I am praying with expectation! (I am only $200ish away from goal one)
- I am meeting the community garden coordinator tomorrow to plant some potatoes in the main plot and get assigned my own raised bed. I am so excited to get my hands in the dirt (though I won’t get to enjoy the fruits of my labor since I will be in Haiti during the harvest. I am trying to set it up so that the produce can go to a food bank if possible)
- Lastly, I am working 10 hour shifts for the next little while, so bare with me if I am tired and disappear for a little bit. You all are so good to me! Thank you partners and supporters!
