One thing I have been struggling with in Honduras is walking in the power and authority I have in Jesus.  I see God using other people on my team for healings and prophecies, but God using me?  Yea right.

I do not always believe I am a powerful woman of God and I have the authority to heal the sick and rebuke the things of Satan.  I have been told I have the exact same power Jesus had when he walked among the earth.  Isn’t that crazy!? It it so difficult for me to imagine.

On our last day praying in the villages, the Holy Spirit was for sure at work in us.  We met a woman, named Carmen, who invited us into her home for prayer.  She began telling us about her mom, Aurelia, who has these awful sores on her feet believing they are from a hex placed on her a few months ago.  As we began praying for Carmen and her mom, all seven us started to get extremely sleepy.  It was as if we were exhausted from a hard days work, barely keeping our eyes open. It wasn’t even noon yet.

All of us knew this wasn’t right; there was some serious spiritual warfare going on.  We finished praying, gave Carmen a hug and kiss goodbye, and were on our way.  But something told me we needed to go to Aurelia’s house and pray for her.  There was something Satan did not want us to see or know and I was not about to let that happen.

We decided to go back to Carmen’s house and ask her if she would take us to her moms.  It was about a ten-minute walk and I could just feel the power of the Holy Spirit rise up inside me.  I felt a little tingle in my fingers and courage in my heart; I was ready for battle.

We met Aurelia and began praying for her.  I have never prayed with so much power and authority in my life! I had no idea where this was coming from.  The Holy Spirit was pouring out of all us.  It was incredible!  But we weren’t the only ones who saw the power within us.  Aurelia’s husband asked us to pray for his cataracts. A boy standing outside the home asked us to pray for his seizures.  A neighbor asked us to pray for her infant who was having kidney problems. They all saw the power of Jesus Christ within us and wanted us to shower them with it!

I will never know if these people will be physically healed.  I will never visibly see the fruit of our prayers.  I do know there was a power in me that was not there before.  I do know the Holy Spirit was at work in us, so therefore I believe these men and women are healed, physically and spiritually.  They saw something in me that I constantly struggle to see in myself: Power.

As Christians, we have the power of the Holy Spirit.  We can heal the sick and raise the dead! We command Satan to leave, and he HAS to go. We can set not only ourselves, but also others free. God freely offers us the power and authority of the Holy Spirit, and it is our choice to take him up on his offer. It is our choice to walk in power.

How are you walking in power today?
