Here’s a blog I wrote a week ago, while
in Nauta…

Tonight I saw the Father’s glory come
down. It was one of those moments where the Lord’s glory was shown
through the inexplicable transformation by the Holy Spirit of lives
who were dry and dead moments before. And then the Holy Spirit came
and brought that abundant life and in one moment that sad, lost face
became one of radiating joy and freedom. I’m not talking about the
type of transformation done by man’s words or motives. I’m talking
about the type where no words were spoken and yet the Holy Spirit
changed a life right then and there. Most of my team is asleep right
now and here I am sitting on our boat in the middle of the Amazon
Jungle amazed at the power of the Lord. His glory fell and I sit in
awe.

I met Pamela and Annette randomly on the street one day while walking to the church. I invited them to our program
we’ve been doing for teenagers every afternoon. Since then both of
them have come to every single afternoon program and church service
we’ve done.

Tonight they showed up at church like
every other day and sat with me. The pastor said a few words at the
end of the service and before I knew it, both girls were up there
praying to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. What?! The
pastor hadn’t spoken much at all and yet before our eyes twelve
people were up there praying for the Lord’s salvation. That
is the power of the Holy Spirit
at work within a person’s life. In 1 corinthians Paul says, “My
message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but
with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might
not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.” Tonight was not
about persuasive or eloquent words being spoken. It was about the
Holy Spirit falling in such a way that lives were changed.

That
it why I sit amazed tonight. I was reminded once again that the Lord
we serve is so much bigger and more powerful than I can ever
comprehend. Tonight I sing praises to the only one who can
breath life into dry, dead bones. He gets all glory for His
glory bursting forth.
