I think its high time for a happy blog!! As some of you may know, team changes happened a couple of weeks to go. I’d like to introduce you all to my brand new team!! I’m still with the same W squad, but this group of ladies are who I spend most of my time with! I seriously love each of them to death and cannot wait to experience the next part of the race with them. we are TEAM PHOENIX!!

danielle (aka dani, team leader)
dani is amazing! I am so glad to have her as a leader. she has all of the qualities I could ever ask for in a team-leader; she’s incredibly smart, sweet, understanding and caring. dani is from Arizona and studied at ASU where she got a degree in kinesiology (which i can’t even spell. i just had to look that up). she has such a good head on her shoulders, and I love how practical she is with her faith. she’s hysterical and makes the best facial expressions. i always have so much fun with her!
kristen
kristen is seriously one of the most beautiful people i’ve ever met. not only is she ridiculously gorgeous, she has such an amazing heart. she grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (breaking amish anyone?) with her three sisters & brother. the community she was in was mainly mennonite and amish. so she’s actually ridden in a buggy, churned butter, and tried on a bonnet before! after high school, kristin dedicated herself to working with troubled youth as well as in an elderly home. she has such a caring, selfless spirit. i got to spend a month with her when our teams were assigned together in costa rica, where we became really fast friends. (we even have a band, check it out here!)
audrey
miss audrey hails from good ol’ texas! she grew up with 6 siblings and lots of pets. at one time she had a goat that they would sneak into the house on occasion! audrey is always so positive and i’ve never seen her in a bad mood. she’s always smiling or singing praise songs. she’s such a joy to have on our team, and she’s incredibly sweet and humble. her strong roots in her faith inspire me to be stronger in mine. she’s also a nurse (and an excellent one at that!) which has already come in great handy on our team with the ministries we’ve been with. i love audrey!!
claire
claire is on of the most inspirational people i’ve met. the way she interacts with people is amazing. even when they don’t speak the same language, claire always seems to make friends with people just by loving them and communicating in other ways. during ministry while everyone else was taking a break, she would always still be out there with the kids or speaking with the locals. she’s also hysterical and cracks me up ALL the time. claire is from delaware, where she was a yoga instructor and a field hockey coach! she does it all, this one!
laura
laura and i are very kindred spirits. her and i share a huge passion for animals amongst many other things! we’ve had long conversations about animal rights and justice. her dream is to live in africa where she can work with and help animals full time! i can’t wait to be with her when we both experience Africa for the first time! she’s worked as a social worker for an inpatient psychiatric unit in a hospital for adults and geriatrics. she is such a strong person, and has dealt with things i can’t imagine through her job and in life. she’s seriously more amazing than she knows or gives herself credit for. laura is also super down to earth, i love talking with her about anything!
christina
christina is just an all-around incredible person. her kindness and outspokenness about her faith is so legit! she’s from southern california, the same town I lived in for a year when I was younger! we could have easily known each other back then, such a small world:) i love that her and i can always relate on california things like in-in-out and the like. christina just graduated UC San Diego where she studied human biology and psychology. she has an incredibly testimony that keeps growing. i love this girl’s beautiful spirit and smile. she is super encouraging and sweet, definitely a keeper and an asset to the team! she’s also obsessed with coffee shops like me, so she’s always my go-to coffee buddy!
