field has loomed in the back of my mind.
The end of month three means a few things – first of all, my squad is
officially more than 25% done with our Race. Second of all, the alumni squad leaders choose
the next squad leaders from the existing team leaders. As a team leader, that had some pretty big
implications for me – my role on the squad could potentially change in a
drastic way and I had a lot of mixed, confusing thoughts on the topic. Lastly, because of the team leader shuffle,
teams were going to change, leadership was going to change, and new communities
would be born.
it was becoming clear why God put the six of us women together and it was
becoming equally clear how we now needed different things from different people
on the squad. Still, we had walked as
Daughters of the King together, which made us sisters in a way unique to any
other friendships I have known. Saying
goodbye to these women and our collective identity was bittersweet, but
healthy.
He wanted to grow me through some different circumstances; I did not anticipate
team leading for the next leg of the Race.
I’m comfortable leading – I love leading, especially women, and God has
plans to use that in big ways for His Kingdom.
However, I didn’t come on this Race to be comfortable. I came on this Race to serve Jesus and to
become the woman who He designed me to be.
I’m really content and excited to step out of a position of logistical
leadership.
and traveling and serving together and I am now enmeshed in a brand new
team. As we sat together and talked
about what we wanted for ourselves and our team in this new season, we summed
up our desires in one word: kindle. “To kindleâ€ means to light or set on fire, to arouse or inspire. That is our heart – we want to kindle a fire
and a passion in one another, to foster a spark that will start a
wildfire. We are women of power and
authority and we will be a team that kindles the Spirit’s power, one another’s
dreams, an epic romance with Jesus. This
season is bound to be different than the last; there are completely different
personalities and temperaments on this team than on RADIANT, but I know that
this will be a definitive season of my Race, a season where I grow even more
than I did in the first three months and where we see the power of God in ways
that we cannot yet imagine.

woman is a firework – passionate, explosive, sparkly. She operates in joy, overcoming all odds
thrown against her, and insists on following God’s will for her life above all
else. A pillar of strength and a force
to be reckoned with, she carries a presence into a room with her that sets a
tone. She hungers for more of God and
for the edification of those around her.
woman walks in strength and a wisdom that is so far beyond her years it’s
almost annoying. She’s the youngest
woman on our squad, but she knows Jesus in an intimate way that invites others
into His love. She is content only to be who she was created to be – pretense
and masks have no business near her. She
hears the Lord and responds to His voice in confidence.

daily life bring her joy, but nothing compares to what she sees in the ways in
which God loves her. Her heart is to
know Him more, to love Him better, to go to new depths with Him. She brings a certain flair and passion to any
group she graces and ministers through her art.

of gentleness and grace, servitude and humility. She runs after the Lord’s heart and His plans
for her life, even when they don’t match up with what she thought they might
be. She is a woman who is clothed in
dignity and grace – she can laugh at the days to come, because she rests in
Jesus’ peace every day and night.

in vulnerability, in worship, in laying things down before God so that she can
know and serve Him better. She knows her
power as a Daughter of the Most High, but also knows how to let Him lead her
well. She is sensitive to the nudges of
the Spirit and acts on His direction.
Content in who He says she is and secure in her relationships, she
continues to grow in depth and knowledge.

hungers and thirsts for righteousness.
Jesus has given her a sneak peak of the deep places where He wants to
take her and she will follow Him the only way she knows how to – with
everything inside of her.
