Okay so one thing I’ve learned this year is I’m a very guarded person, I don’t really like everyone knowing my business especially when it has to do with personal finances.
Sound familiar to anyone else? Can you relate?
This year has stretched me in so so many ways- but one of the biggest ways is trusting God with my personal FINANCES. I say personal because well He provided financially for all my support to come in for My World Race- I was fully funded (with monthly donors- THANK YOU!) before I even left the country. However, due to where I am at in life I have other financial needs above just the World Race support dollar amount.
SO….one of my very least things to do is share how truly in need I am financially. The beautiful thing I’ve been learning though is that we are all part of Christ’s body- we ARE the church- we ARE family. I will never forget when as a squad in Tanzania, it came to our attention that several members of our squad were on the verge of being sent home because they were not fully funded yet. We came together, prayed, and sent out TONS of e-mails/blogs. We had 24 hrs to raise $25,000…guess what?! It came flooding in…and within 12 HOURS everyone on our squad was FULLY funded. PRAISE THE LORD!
So as a squad family, as friends and family back home, as a church family I am asking you to read these words of vulnerability and openness on my part with an open and prayerful heart. I’ve been praying and fasting this month and I am CONFIDENT that when I seek the Lord with all of my heart, I will find him and He will keep His promises to me (to equip those He calls- and He NEVER fails).
So my immediate financial needs…currently my bank account sits at exactly: $97.79
(The international charges on the ATM and using my Visa card are ASTRONOMICAL and have been killing me every month, we tried to have them waived but Visa and the bank refused)
Since I have been out of college since 2009, I have used up all deferment privileges on three of my school loans. Therefor I have been paying directly from my bank account:
Great Lakes Loan: $92.49
Chase Loan: $53.15
FedLoans: $57.69
It was also cheaper to keep my car insurance plan and allow my brother to drive my car for the year since he did not have one so my car insurance monthly is:
$43.55
Lastly, I also have a credit card (used to repair my car last year) which I pay minimum balance on monthly of: $25
SO the grand total simply for bills which I must have a minimum of in my bank account MONTHLY is: $271.88
I also have other specific immediate needs:
When I arrive in NYC on July 30th I will be staying overnight with a friend for free but will need a little spending money for food while in the city for a day. I also will be traveling to stay with my mentor Juleen, the train to her home outside of the city is exactly $11 there and then to return to the airport on August 4th is another $11.
So $22 for the train tickets and a little extra for food those days.
I also am going to have to pay for checking one bag on the airline home from NYC to Columbus August 4th. The cost of one checked bag is: $25

I am so so so thankful for the help and encouragement that SO SO many of you have already given so freely this year to even get me to this point. As I said before I am confident in my calling to be here and that My Savior will continue to provide for all my needs according to His incredible purposes. BLessings!!!
