Yep I think my goal shall be to title as many blogs as I can with song lyrics….then perhaps when you cant get that song out of your head throughout the day you’ll remember the blog and to pray for our ministry! 🙂 teehee….
Well I arrived in LA last night, safe n sound…hanging out with my bestest friend Mary and enjoying the sunshine…until meeting up with my leaders tomorrow @ LAX to fly to THE PHILIPPINES!
Seems like people have been asking me “How are you feeling”…a LOT lately so here’s a run down on how I’ve been feeling:
Excited, Anxious, Overwhelmed, Blessed, Loved, Filled with the Holy Spirit, Encouraged, Supported, Full of expectation, Empowered…and really really ready to go!
My friends threw me the most amazing going away party I couldn’t of a better send-off. We had food, fellowship, TONS of hugs (thanks Cory!), incredible worship (thanks Michael and Lindsey!), prayer led by the Spirit, and a CAMPFIRE! Seriously it was such an awesome time of being reminded that I’m literally being “sent out” from where I call home, and that I’m never alone…and that I have a place to come “home” to at the end of this year. All of those things give me an immense amount of peace, leaving knowing that God is with me and behind me, and so is this wonderful community that I call home!
Thanks everyone for showing me Christ’s love in your friendship…I love you and will miss you A TON this year!
I was reading “Jesus Freaks” this morning….great book for anyone looking to be encouraged and challenged in their faith…and this line jumped out “I’ve crossed the line from innocent bystander to hard-core participant in what Jesus has CALLED me to.” -Michael Tait
That’s the best way to describe how I feel…I feel CALLED to this year long adventure in missions…and I’ve chosen to follow HIM….so HERE WE GO….:)
Hebrews 12:1-3
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
