Creative title, I know. I’ve been thinking about it all month.
My last month on the Race has been better than I ever could have expected. Incredible ministry. Incredible place. Incredible people. They’ve captured my heart, thats for sure.
So we’ve been working with KIM (Kids International Ministries) in the capital city of Manila. We’ve been staying at their ministry center located in squatter community. Each day is so full of opportunities. They have a sweet children’s home right up the street. Feedings in various parts of the city twice a day. Construction projects. And the JAZ home, which is a home of 30 girls ranging from ages 9-18 who have been taken out of difficult homes and given a safe place to live and be loved. I love these girls. I spent most of my time with them cause they are absolutely amazing. A couple of us would head over to the house in the afternoon and just kick it with them. Playing basketball, swimming, watching movies, or just lying on the floor talking. They refreshed my spirit and poured so much love and joy into my heart. I cant help but feel so blessed and privileged to have been able to spend so much time with them. Definitely gonna miss ’em.
This month has just been so full. Even when I’m exhausted the Lord infuses me with His joy and strength, opening my eyes to see their is so much more to be enjoyed and savored every day. He’s blessed me with sweet friendships this month that have touched my life in beautiful ways. And it has just been so much fun. So much fun. And ya know, thats how it should be. Life is too short not to laugh as often as possible (cheesy, but true). I’m so thankful for the gift this month has been.
