Today I met a woman who lives in holy desperation.
Maria.
The minute we walked through her door this old widow fell to the floor, crying out to God on her hands and knees. Tears streaming down her face. Three of her four children are dead. And the one still alive isnt a believer. Her heart literally breaks for him. She feels forgotten. Lonely. Attacked by the devil every time she prays. Her strength is waning.
So we join her on hands and knees and cry out to God on her behalf.
When she got up we got to spend some time encouraging her, singing with her, and just listening as she poured out her heart.
She’s desperate for the Lord. Without Him, she’s nothing.
Thats how she lives. Thats how she prays. Thats how she fights for hope each and every day.
While the rest of my team went to fetch water for her, I stayed back with Veronica (our amazing translator and woman of God) to speak with her. I held her hand and just spoke whatever the Spirit put on my heart. Words of truth and life. Hope and love. It was incredibly humbling to stand with this woman, to enter into her story, her situation, and be used  by the Spirit to speak to the depths of her heart.
Looking into her eyes I can see Him. He cares for her. He fights for hers. He hears her cries and feels her pain.
Katie and I prayed over her, sharing in her desperation for the Holy Spirit to intercede for this beautiful woman.
Looking back, I can barely remember what I said, and it was only a few hours ago. But I knot it was a holy moment. It was the Spirit’s passion radiating out of me. The Spirit’s words flowing through me. There’s simply no other explanation.
This is why we’re here. To speak life. To bring life. To speak love and be love incarnate. And I’m so humbled He let’s me do this. I’m so humbled He chooses to use me, even in my weakness and trembling. He trusts me. He uses me
And I’m desperate for Him.
Also, we’re heading into our last week in Moldova! We’ll be spending month two serving at an orphanage in Romania! Woot woot! Please be praying for us, to give all of ourselves this last week and for safety as we travel! Thanks!!!
Much love amigos,
