Team Eucharistia!!
Here are the amazing women I get to share this journey with!
Left to right: Katie, Julie, Daniele, Jessica, Michelle, and yours truly.
Here’s where the inspiration for choosing Eucharistia originated…
“And he took the bread, gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them…”(Luke 22:19)… In the original language, “he gave thanks” reads “eucharisteo.”… The root word of eucharisteo is charis, meaning “grace.” Jesus took the bread and saw it as grace and gave thanks. He took the bread and knew it to be gift and gave thanks….But there is more, and I read it. Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelopes the Greek word for grace, charis. But is also holds its derivative, the Greek word chara, meaning “joy.”
— from One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
“Eucharist [thanksgiving] is the state of the perfect man. Eucharist is the life of paradise. Eucharist is the only full and real response of man to God’s creation, redemption, and gift of heaven.”
~Alexander Schmemann
Eucharistia is the present, ongoing version of the word.
Thanksgiving. Grace. Joy.
That is what we as a team want to be about. We want those things to not only be unleashed in our souls, but to break out everywhere we go. We want this word to be manifested in our lives, just like it was through Jesus.
Pray for us. Pray for them. I mean, they do have to put up with me 24/7 and I am quite a diva. But really, please pray for us as we spend these last weeks in the states with the people we love. Pray for us as the Lord prepares our hearts to live out Eucharistia by the power of His Spirit alive and working within. Pray for the places we’ll go and the people we’ll meet along the way, that the aroma of Christ will flood the depths of their souls, brining sweet freedom and love into their lives like they’ve never known. Pray for the kingdom of heaven invading this earth and leaving none unchanged.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve and love alongside these radiant women of God. They have such beautiful hearts full of love and grace that never cease to amaze me. They are living testimonies of God’s glorious redemption, divine transformation, and relentless pursuit of the children He loves.
I can’t wait to change the world with them.
