Last night's concert experience was so uplifting and exhausting. I awoke this morning still feeling tired from the night before, but I had to get to church. I was blessed to be the prayer leader for all three services. As it goes for my first class of the day, my prayer was not what I had hoped it would be. A few stumbles and I picked up on earrors my proofreading had missed. The second and third services were much better, and they were attended by most of the people in my church I call family.
In my speech I explained that I would be at the back of the church with information and that I had a flat sheet I would like everyone to sign that I can bring with me. So many people came to talk with me and sign my sheet! I feel overwhelmed and blessed by the out pouring of support.
The most inspiring and encouraging moment today was when 8 year old Mia came over to me with her change purse to give me all its contents! She poured out her purse into mine, giving me a total of $10.66. For an 8 year old to have that much money I can only imagine how hard she had to work and how long she had to save to get that money. It was so inspiring to me because although I know a number of the kids at my church I had never met Mia. Yet this young girl heard me speak for 5 minutes and wanted to do what she could to help me get to my mission trip. I am certain that God plans to send me on The World Race, and although there is only $173.00 in my account today the necessary $3500.00 will be there for training camp.
