it is so strange to me that I am here in Thailand again; same month and same week as last year..i did not really even realize that until this week.
Last year when i was here i worked in a refugee camp with a group of orphans that had braved the cold river and their parents brutal deaths to make a new life in the refugee camp in Thailand. There I met a boy who changed my life. Those of you who have known me for at least the lat year know that one of the 16 year old boys there asked me to be his mama and he would be my child and I would pray for him and he would pray for me each day. i agreed and ever since i have called him my son. I have prayed and loved him from afar.
In October God blessed me and let me know all about his well being by sending me a divine messenger of sorts ;who said she had taken him to the zoo and fed him ice cream for the first time in his life. Before I came on this trip i contemplated going to the camp for a few months; it just did not work out that way. Since i have been here it crossed my mind again when someone asked me where I would like to live (that was one of the places). While I have been here i have been in communication with the ministry where he was living and they told me he was gone and no longer lived there. i was shattered inside.
Then yesterday the strangest thing happened at a church i went to here. A teenager came up to me with an interpreter and said I see a picture of children trying to get across a river and they can’t but you help them as god has helped you. After they spoke to me i shared about the camp where the kids had come from the Rivers of Burma and about my son Genesis. the boy looked at me stunned.
He is from Burma
He is the same age as Genesis would be
He had been rescued from Burma where he was in a ver violent gang
This knew young friend was a picture perfectly painted for me of Gods provision and love for me..I felt swept away by him. He lives in the church we attended and he said we will keep in touch.
Oh how Jesus loves me so and how he shows it so magically never stops amazing me.
Love, Carla
