Dear city of Pattaya,
I dreamed of coming here long before I did; even though the destination was not set I knew God was bringing me ! I was overwhelmed the first day I saw Soi 6 your main street and with everything in me I tried to compose myself.  I had the overwhelming feeling it should be called heartbreak lane instead. On my first day when I went to see your beautiful beaches and pray for your people; I thought I would just come here for the beaches and other people would too. Instead their are chairs full of empty people on Soi 6 and on the beaches and in the city.

Oh Pattaya, the more I have gotten to know you the more I have gotten to love you. As it is true in life the more you pray for it a city, person, or thing the more you begin to love them! As I sang praises and declarations walking down your streets, as I talked to the women who work in the bars, as I taught English and even when I watched lady boys have high heel competitions …I fell in love and then my heart became the one that was broken.

God has used us to intercede in prayer, we have seen new women from the bars come to English class ready to learn, we hear that sex tourists are on the decline here, we here that more legitimate businesses are starting to pop up, we met a bar owner who is now a Christian and wants to get out of her lease, we have worshipped onto soi 6, we have done prayer walks around the city, we have loved your people and as for me on this day I pray that God will raise his banner of you dear Pattaya.

Pattaya I will keep praying for you and I will never forget you long after I leave and I will miss you !!

Love, Carla
