Yesterday was a very special day.

We took our normal ride to the ministry in our songtow; a covered pickup with open air windows and benches then went right to teaching English. We had an overflow of women; the women who come to learn are all women who work in the bars or have and they are so eager to learn. We closed the session with my teammate Karina and I leading the song Peace like a river for the women.

After the English class Kay a student I have mentioned in a previous blog asked where I was going next; she told me she gets really bored and has no friends. I had not thought about where these women go when they are done with the bars. All of her friends were the women who sat in front of the bar with her. Our next thing we were going to do was a communal lunch on a straw mat on the first floor of the ministry. We smiled alot all of us and laughed alot; we shared things like Basil Chicken, bitter root, tarro, okra, and dried fish. Then again she wanted to know what next.

We had another session to teach but she invited us for a walk on the beach after; Karina, a staff member, and I all set out with her. Kay had many onlookers as she is so beautiful. We shared tart mango and chilli and I kept thinking about where the women go when their bar life is done. She left and went on with her day but my thinking has not stopped yet.

At night it was the first time I had seen the bar scene after dark; it was tragic really; it seemed like the darker it got the less clothes the women and lady boys wore. We could see transactions in the works and gogo dancers in second floor buildings.

Then came the exciting part; we got to worship on the floor just aroung the corner from all the chaos. Peoplestopped, they looked in, and I am sure they wondered what we praying, what we were singing and what we were doing. We had many onlookers and an amazing time of prayer and worship for the city of Pattaya. Praise Jesus

Thank you all for your wonderful prayers, thoughts, and comments they encourage me daily ! Love you all
