For those of you who know me well; you know that when I was in the interview process for the World Race I had the worst pain of my life. Mouth pain is horrible anyway you look at it but the pain was shooting into the sides of my chin, cheeks, and my whole mouth was sore.

It was a miracle in itself that I found a dentist in my town that would even see me. If they take new patients they are usually full for months out. Sore mouth and all I called every dentist in the book, recommendations from friends, and well the whole shooting match. The one dentist who could get me in wanted an emergency visit fee of $200; can you say yikes ?

Finally, after being on about 6 waiting lists I found the best dentist ever.. She determined that I had a very rare issue; so rare that she did not even have the equipment to fix it. Apparently, my dental implants that I had installed when I was 18 had been shedding some kind of residue; probably for years she said. She was amazed that I had not had pain sooner and then proceeded to tell me she was going to have to remove the build up and the tissue underneath and that we more than likely would not be able to save the implants. The dentist also said that with the hole left in my mouth she did not feel the damage would repair itself enough to not have a massive trough of infection. She advised me that the 5 month trip would not be wise based on my condition. When I left the office she only charged me $70 for the whole surgery and I went crying on my way.

I walked around with a gapping whole in my mouth for weeks. I decided that if I still had any intention of going on this trip I better get it looked at again. Fast forward 1 month; today I am sitting in the dentist chair and she pulls out her mirror and takes a look. She said, “Oh my goodness, I don’t believe it..I have seen a miracle; I really thought we were not going to be able to save the implants and that the tissue would not heal in time but it has healed wonderfully….someone is on your side, that is for sure she said.

I almost would have paid any amount she charged me to tell me that kind of news; and then the receptionist said today’s visit is No Charge.

Praise be to God for a Supernatural miracle healing that only he could orchestrate.
