Love is a touchy subject. But why should love be so hard to talk about when it’s so good?

When I was a little girl, I saw love the same way that Jesus gives love. I wanted a prince charming who would love me without seeing my flaws, but as I got older the image of love got tainted and what I wanted in a husband became less and less because the world got bigger and bigger.

The world categorizes love into so many different things.. but to be honest they’re really just putting love as the title of their sin.

Lust.

Lust is the the biggest confusion of all. The need of being wanted and feeling worth. Falling in lust is the easiest way to get it. Until it ends and those slight moments of being needed are gone and you’re left wondering.. how did I get here?

When someone you’re friends with or care about hurts you, how do you view them afterwards? Do you think negative things about them? Do you talk badly behind their backs? That someone that you once loved turned into someone you now hate.

But is that really love? Is love supposed to have an end?

Let me tell you how Jesus views love.

Love is patient and kind

Love does not envy or boast

Love is not arrogant or rude.

Love is not irritable or resentful

Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

We are to be FULL OF MERCY for our brothers and sisters – Ephesians 2:4

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander -Ephesians 5:31

This IS how Jesus loves you. When He looks at you He see’s himself, He see’s perfection. “There is no flaw in you, my child.” He is always pursing you even when you aren’t pursing Him.

And sometimes, it’s hard to love people. It is hard to love people you don’t know and it’s hard to love people who don’t love you back. But even in the hard times it is worth it. If you love others how the Lord loves you, you could change someones life.

The other day me and a few of my squad-mates were asked what makes christianity so different than other religions and the answer was simple. Christianity is the only “religion” where God pursues you. Even in the midst of all sin, He is pursing and fighting for us. The love of the Lord is not something that is earned but it is something that is given.

Thats how we should one love another. We shouldn’t make others earn our love or do things to keep our love, we should ALWAYS freely give it and there should NEVER be an end.
