HI FRIENDS & FAMILY!!
My name is Carissa Marie Church, but normally people just call me Carissa. I was born in Illinois, raised in Long Island, NY and now reside in Charlotte, NC. Basically my parents loved to move around growing up!
I am from a family of 8… 6 children & yes we did fight A LOT growing up. But now we love each other, of course 🙂
Some basics about me: I have a HUGE sweet tooth. Favorite color is blue. Love all kinds of movies.. I could sit at home all day watching them and be completely content. Hate coffee. Quit drinking soda (I was obsessed). Like to pretend that I workout when really all I am doing is watching Netflix. Do not like being alone (perk of having a family of 8). I work at a restaurant as a server. AND I am a little sassy and sarcastic but have a good sense of humor 😉
I attended Western Carolina University for 2 years and realized while I was there that it wasn’t where I was called to be. After moving back home and attending classes at a local community college, I felt God calling me to the mission field. I love people, especially children, and have always had a passion for traveling the world.
My first response to missionary work was, me? Theres no way. I am not good enough and not strong enough to be able to do this kind of work for the kingdom of God. But as a couple of months passed by, filled with lots of praying, I knew that those negative thoughts were not coming from God and that this in fact is something He wanted me to do.
As I continue on this journey, I will be posting blogs on here quite frequently with updates of my life while on the missions field. As I do so, I would totally appreciate prayers, love & support!!!
